I picked these pics up off a message board the other day and had to share them.  If you know where these were taken or the back story on them please let me know so I can give the proper people credit.

You know that the guy running the crane had to be looking for a place to hide though after he saw that boat starting to go.  So much for the nice brand new boat!

Someone had to be crying after that was all said and done!

Fishing with Cliff is RICH!

Posted in Uncategorized

LOL…  Got this in the mail today and had to share it.  Does anyone really ever bite on these letters?  I can’t imagine anyone stupid enough to think they are real, but human stupidity never does cease to amaze me.

Greetings From Rachel Oniga I know that this mail will come to you as a
surprise, please accept the content in good faith. I do not intend to cause
any grief to you and your family. The reason for sending this mail is very
fundamental because I and my family are in serious problem and we need
your help. My Name is Rachel Oniga, daughter Of late Mr Chico Oniga.I am about
to tell you something that I have not discuss with anyone excluding my lawyer.
My father was a big time farmer in South Africa, he uses most of South Africa
land for farming. The Government in South Africa gave him those lands for
farming and he will pay back when he have the money, it was like a loan. They
gave him the lands as loan .My father was very successful in the farming
business and he paid all the money he owed the Government back. Some top
officials In the Government were Jealous because of his wealth. They wanted
him to Join them carry out a dubious deal against the Government but he
refused,so they plan to kill him and claim all his wealth to finance their
dubious deal. My father has really worked hard to be successfull in the business
in South Africa. On one faithfull day he was driving from the office and he was
shot twice by some armed men.He was rushed to the hospital by a good Samaritan
but he did not make it, he had loss so much blood and could not survive. Before
his death he transfered most of his fund to a Security company In Holland. He
gave me the contact Information to the Security company which the fund was located.
Those people were looking for me and my family and we ran to West Africa country
for safety because they know we knew were my father funds were lying. I contacted
the Security company yesterday on how I could collect the funds with my lawyer
assistance and they told me that I need a foreign beneficiary outside Africa because
of Security reasons. And I don't have anyone outside the Africa that will stand
for me as a beneficiary. They said they are holding (TWENTY MILLION USDOLLARS) for
my father. My father never told me the amount of the money I was so shock. They
also said that the funds has been deposited there for about four years now and it
has accumulated demurrage which I must pay before the consignment will be released.
All my father properties was extorted from us and confisicated. Please assist me
and my family in claiming the funds from the security company. I and my family shall
reinburse you in double of any amount of money you spent in helping us,when you
receive the total sum. As I will travel to your country to meet you for the sharing.
My lawyer told me to look for a beneficiary. That Is my problem now, My mother is
willing to give Seven Million USDOLLARS to you if you will help the family. Please If
you can help me and my family in anyway I will appreciate It a lot and in paying the
demurrage fee. Please do reply me and I will like you to tell me more about yourself,
so that I will know who I am dealing with.I and my family have decided that we will
pay you double of what you will pay for demurage and Seven Million Dollars for your
help. Please assure me that you will act according to my specification herein. I will
also be most glad if you can tell me a little about yourself.Hoping to hear from you.
Thank you and may the Almighty bless you.

Please reply me back to the below address:
 <DELETED ADDRESS>

Thank you Miss Rachel Oniga.

.

Who on earth would believe that. Personally I would have to say if it were true that her dad was one tough bird to get shot twice, go to the hospital, THEN take the time to transfer the money to a special account.  LOL…  The things people come up with.  You really should read up on the Nigerian  Letter or 419 Fraud scam.

Hope that gives you a laugh.  Drunken Thomas and I will be back Tomorrow with pics and hopefully some fish stories from our trip up to the Skykomish River where we will be fishing for Steelhead and King Salmon.

Men and Fire - The BBQ Routine

Posted in Joke

The BBQ Routine

We are finally coming up to the wonderful BBQ season.
Therefore it is important to refresh your memory on the etiquette of this sublime outdoor cooking activity, as it’s the only type of cooking a ‘real’ man will do, probably because there is an element of danger involved. When a man volunteers to do the BBQ the following chain of events are put into motion:

Routine…
(1) The woman buys the food.
(2) The woman makes the salad, prepares the vegetables, and makes dessert.
(3) The woman prepares the meat for cooking, places it on a tray along with the necessary cooking utensils and sauces, and takes it to the man who is lounging beside the grill - beer in hand.

Here comes the important part:
(4) THE MAN PLACES THE MEAT ON THE GRILL.

Back to the routine….
(5) The woman goes inside to organize the plates and cutlery.
(6) The woman comes out to tell the man that the meat is burning. He thanks her and asks if she will bring another beer while he deals with the situation.

Important again:
(7) THE MAN TAKES THE MEAT OFF THE GRILL AND HANDS IT TO THE WOMAN.

The routine continues….
(8) The woman prepares the plates, salad, bread, utensils, napkins, sauces, and brings them to the table.
(9) After eating, the woman clears the table and does the dishes.

And most important of all:
10) Everyone PRAISES the MAN and THANKS HIM for his cooking efforts.

(11) The man asks the woman how she enjoyed “her night off.” And, upon seeing her annoyed reaction, concludes that there’s just no pleasing some women….

OK, I stole this joke from over at SteelHeader.net but I couldn’t resist since I am currently shopping for a new BBQ myself.

ICAST 2007 if right around the corner and we are going to be there!

For those of you that haven’t heard, the ICAST convention is the largest sport fishing show in the country and this is it’s 50th anniversary!  So it seems only fitting that the Fishing with Cliff crew heads down to Vegas to cover all the action.  This year there will be over 1,300 booths across 350,000 square feet of floor space with 400 exhibitors showing off their new products and fishing tackle.  Much of what is shown here will be the hot items of 2008.

Fishing with Cliff will do several episodes on the show, and bring you information on what is hot and new for fishing in the Northwest.  So you can look forward to several of our videos, blog posts and articles.  We are currenlty looking for sponsors for our coverage of the ICAST convention so if your company would like to have us plug your products in our down to earth and honest way please contact us.  We are offering two levels of sponsorship for this series of videos, posts and articles.  Our premium sponsorship level is an affordable $250.00 and that gives you credits at the front and back of every episode we shoot for ICAST, as well as premium placement and commentary in our articles, blog posts and other written material.  For a very reasonable $100.00, you can still get your product mentioned in the credits for our show and listed on our articles and blog.  Either way you will get seen and have the backing of the Fishing with Cliff crew.

New Fishing Tackle Store in Lynnwood, WA

Posted in Fishing Tackle, Shopping

I am really excited to see a new fishing tackle and outdoor gear store in Lynnwood.  I am tired of driving down to the Outdoor Emporium to find the Steelhead jigs and floats, and the Salmon hooks and flashers that actually work.

The place is called (if I got it right)  Elliot’s Outdoor Store.  In any case it is at 18825 33rd Ave West in Lynnood.  The place is so new that they still have the signs up for the Office Supply store that was there, but they are all about the outdoor and fishing gear now!

From the looks of things they are still filling the place up, but they already have the basic gear for the Salmon and Steelhead that are around the area, and I was talking with Dave Elliot the owner and he says more is on the way.  This is a guy that knows his stuff too, because he used to be part owner of the Outdoor Emporium in Seattle.  If anyone around here knows what fishing gear we need in a store, it is Dave.

Go in, take a look and buy something.  I always like to give my business to the local stores that employ people that know what they are talking about and are as passionate about fishing as I am.    So if you are looking for fishing tackle and are in the Lynnwood, Washington area, stop in and say hi.  Be sure to tell them that you heard about them on here too!
