Thomas and I are gearing up to head out to ICAST 2007, but I just wanted to take a minute to say thanks to all our fans that make this show worth doing. Not everyone loves our show, shocking I know, but I woke up this morning to a comment posted on one of our videos on YouTube and it really hit home.
“I like watchin your vids-always make me laugh, but interesting at the same time cuz you remind me of like exactly of me and my buddy fishin! minus the beer lol”

This is exactly what we love to hear! So to all of you that visit the site regularly and have our videos bookmarked on your favorite video sites, thanks for watching and stay tuned because there is lots more fun coming up!
Finally put up the video of Thomas and I on Lake Ballinger doing some early Summer Rainbow Trout fishing. We were up early and on the lake at sunrise, which I think is the best time to be fishing. I think sunset is better time from a purely fishing aspect, but I like mornings because no one else is out and about!

If you aren’t familiar with the lake, it is a pretty good size urban lake on the border of King and Snohomish counties and is primarily fished for the stocked Rainbow Trout. Word is that there are Bass and Perch in it too, but I have yet to see much proof of that. We have a write up on it on our site at: http://fishingwithcliff.com/PlacesFished/Ballinger/index.htm
Nothing too fancy in the technique, just dragging some small floating and suspending plugs right along the surface. Seems to work every time with the planters, at least at sunrise and sunset. I think the cross lighting is key for this technique. Too much light and they get blinded by the light, but just a little highlights the lure and they pound it!

Another 4th of July has come and gone and now Summer is in full swing. Hope you have all your fishing plans set for the year, because it is going by quick!
Thomas and I are gearing up to head down to Vegas for the 50th Annual ICAST fishing convention where we will check out all the newest tools and toys for catching fish. We are hoping to get a lot of great video, and bring back some great toys to show off to everyone.
We also have our latest video ‘Lake Ballinger Rainbow Trout Fishing’ up on the site now, so drop by and check it out if you have a minute. Lots of great fish catching action, and I even manage to hook myself!
