The folks over at Okuma have got a great reel in the Convector series!  I have been using the CV-20L for a while now and it is fantastic.  I liked it so much that I got the CV-15D for the Fish Assassin up in Idaho to use for jigging those big fish. 

Why do I like this reel?  First off it is priced right, I forked over about $60.00 for it at my local shop.  Second, is that it performs great!  Very smooth action, accurate level winding and as silly as it may sound, I love that oversized grip.  The first time I took this baby out in Puget Sound it was bitch ass cold and our fingers were all about numb even with neoprene   gloves on.  But that big chunky handle was easy to find and hold onto, even with my frozen gloved fingers.  If you are a stats person, then I encourage you to check out Okuma's website!

What else can I tell you other than you ought to at least go down and check one of these babies out for yourself at your local tackle shop.  The latest Bass Pro didn't seem to be giving Okuma any love, so you will most likely have to get it from your local guy, or possibly online.  We will definitely be checking more of Okuma's equipment out in the coming months, especially if they will send us some to test out.  That's a hint dammit!
