Xtools Pliers![]() Reviewed by: Cliff |
| The old pliers just weren't doing the
job. After our first real outing in the new official FWC boat
into Puget Sound, it was apparent that no regular pliers was going
to be sufficient. After catching about 60 Dogfish, I was ready
to throw the old pair in the drink. So off shopping I went
(what a surprise.) I have had my eye on these for a while, and had been wondering if they were worth trying out. Most of the fish we catch don't require this level of effort to remove a hook. Well, who am I kidding, most of the time we don't catch fish. I knew though that the next time we took our boat out that it would be shark city again, so we needed a good pair of pliers. We found them! They are light, have a good grip to them and float. Floating is good because I know our crew, and they will be in the water at some point! As for the built in cutter, it works fantastic. Thomas has braid on most of his poles because he is really good at losing rigging. This thing snips though it like it was nothing. No more trying to saw through it when I am setting up the gear. My daughter also has taken a shine to them, and as soon as she saw them she grabbed them up and named them 'Gary'. Why I don't know, but they are now know as Gary. SO! Buy these things. The only complaint I have is that the store I was at didn't have the 9" ones which I would have liked. Of course if you guys over at Xtools want to send us a pair.... You can check out their whole line of tools at their website. |
