Lake Stickney

Snohomish County, Washington

Lake Stickney has got to be the smallest place we have fished ever. At 26 acres, the only way you can find something smaller is to start fishing the ponds at your local golf course!

This doesn't mean that it wasn't a good time.  Lake Stickney boasts a large population of Perch, Crappie, Largemouth Bass, Redear Sunfish and even some native Trout.  It has also been stocked with Trout from time to time.  The only down side is that there are so many little fish that there aren't many big ones.  In fact if you are looking for someplace to take the kids and make sure that they catch something, this is the place.  Some bait on a jig and a bobber are pretty much guaranteed to get some action if you fish the weeds.

Be nice and throw any native (unmarked) trout back though.  There is a small natural fishery here for them but it wouldn't take much to break it.  There is no real shore access at Lake Stickney, but there is a primitive boat launch, as well as a toilet (though it is scary.)  Electric motors only of course.
