The Illustrated Rigging for Salmon, Steelhead & Trout is a good book for anyone looking to catch more Steelhead and Salmon!
Illustrated Rigging from Amato publications was written by Robert Campbell and is a compilation of articles he has written for his column ‘Illustrated Rigging’ in the magazine Salmon, Steelhead and Trout. While it reads less like a book than a magazine it does offer up some excellent diagrams of how to rig different lures and baits.
Really, this is a book targeted at beginning to moderately skilled fishermen and experienced anglers won’t find a whole lot of new information here. There are some good ideas and things to try in here though.
The focus of the book, despite its title is on Salmon and Steelhead and primarily on river fishing. Not a whole lot of attention is given to Trout, but there there are a few tips.
All in all, if you are just starting out fishing for Salmon and Steelhead in west coast rivers, Illustrated Rigging for Salmon, Steelhead & Trout is a good book to put in your library!
