Of all the gifts I have gotten in recent years, the Leatherman Kick has got to be one of the most useful.
At first, I must admit that I pondered what to do with it. Unaccustomed to carrying it on my belt, I figured it would languish in my array of gadgets. But wisely I hooked the carrying case onto the strap of my mobile office and left it there.
Since then I have time and time again found myself wishing I had a knife, or a pliers, or a screwdriver and cussing until I remembered my Leatherman on the strap where I left it.
To date, I think that the only tool I haven’t used on it is the can/bottle opener, but I am sure the time is coming for that. Its latest test was putting in the bilge pump and float in our boat. Why carry carry two screwdrivers and a knife when I have my Leatherman Kick?
Size wise, it isn’t too big or so small you can’t really put some effort into using it. The only thing it is lacking that I might need in a survival situation (ala Les Stroud) is a saw. But for day to day usage, that would just be something that added bulk.
So if you haven’t figured it out the Leatherman Kick gets my full praise and recommendation.
